The new Autumn-Winter 2018/2019 Collection

The entire selection of prints in the Acabados Abellán autumn-winter 2018 collection of leathers are a hit and they range from the brightest and most explosive of colours right through to romantic Mediterranean flowers, without forgetting our passion for art and our ode to nature. Next autumn, we will bid farewell to the pastel tones we have used in contrast with the intensity of daily life and will welcome the arrival of a range of bright colours in blues, yellows, striking pinks and purples combined with more neutral tones such as white and shades of almond. In short, we are putting everything behind ‘more is more’, colour and authenticity.

Next winter, the Acabados Abellán range will include the entire spectrum of colours but the season’s leading role has been assigned to yellow in products such as Duma and Tempo. A flag-bearer of optimism, energy and enjoyment, the Pantone Colour Institute delivered its judgement and set the colour yellow as the trend for 2018. We have, indeed, seen it on the catwalks with Isabel Marant, Dries Van Noten, Salvatore Ferragamo, Prabal Gurung, Self Portrait, 3.1 Phillip Lim and Rosie Assoulin.

Altamira’s refreshing blue and Turin’s paradisical blue are clearly the most groundbreaking products. They transport us to the wondrous Niagara Falls, to the fresh and dynamic blues of water, and give us a real energy rush. The intensity of blue makes us feel safe and strong. This intense colour is enhanced when paired with a soft Athos or brought down a step or two when combined with more neutral and dull tones such as Serraje. It is ideal for mixing with earthy colours such as the Andújar grassy green or Babyme greys.

Just a few seasons ago, fashion sense meant avoiding mixing different prints and using prints in moderation combined with monochromatic items of clothing, but things have changed and the time has come to mix patchworks with floral prints, kaleidoscopic prints, geometrical shapes and colour blocks. And all at the same time! The rise of social media and it-girls have, quite naturally, brought the most improbable of combinations to the world of fashion.

The Acabados Abellán range includes an ode to nature and plants in Fiore’s delicate patterns and Paraíso’s oriental landscapes. Botanical designs, such as the one in Rosal, will also be present in autumn-winter 2018 accessories. The eroded texture of Bigar and the rustic fibre print in Bruma will give us a more natural look in earthy colours.

The famous animal print is with us once again but this time in loud blues, pinks and greens. The Atheris print will transport us to African tribes and a truly wild life. Geometry will also have an important role to play with its more tribal shapes in Tesela – intense colours and shapes that remind us of the continent’s most characteristic places.

We will also come across accessories sporting iridescent effects, just like Kalia in our collection, the deep red of Niágara and the importance of purples that transport us to a world of dreams and the abstract. In other words, escapism.
